Joshua Sermon Series
On Sundays, between Octber 5th and November 16th, join us as we continue our study of Joshua, a book of the Bible, in our Joshua Sermon Series. After forty years of wandering, a new generation stands poised at the border of the Promised Land. The wilderness is behind them, but a massive, daunting task lies ahead: crossing the Jordan River and conquering the heavily fortified cities of Canaan.
This series is far more than an ancient military history; it is a profound study of leadership, covenant, and courage. With the mantle of Moses passed to Joshua, God’s command is clear and repeated: “Be strong and courageous, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
In this series, we will learn how God keeps His promises, even when the obstacles look insurmountable. Every one of us encounters moments in life that feel like ‘Jordan Rivers’—moments of fear, transition, and overwhelming challenge. Through Joshua’s story, we discover the foundation of true courage: not self-confidence, but confidence in God’s unwavering presence and power, knowing our heavenly future is assured. We will look closely at the miraculous, from the crossing of the Jordan to the fall of Jericho, and the powerful, humbling reminder that we need to obey God.
Ultimately, the Book of Joshua leads us to understand our spiritual inheritance in Christ. It forces us to ask the same critical question the people faced at Shechem: “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.”
