Week of Fasting and Prayer

2026 Week of Fasting and Praying: Seeking God Together
Since the early days of the church, followers of Jesus have gathered to praise the Lord, confess their needs, and ask Him to move with power. For centuries, the church has witnessed God respond to the collective petitions of His people. Our 2026 Week of Fasting and Prayer is an invitation to join this long tradition as we call upon the name of the Lord for our church, our city, and our world.
Gathering for Prayer Community is at the heart of this week. We will gather daily on Zoom at 12:15 pm ET from Monday through Thursday to seek God together. We will conclude our week by breaking fast with a potluck meal and powerful in-person prayer and worship on Friday night at 6 pm ET.

-
Friday: In-person potluck meal, prayer, and worship
Purpose and Options for Fasting The purpose of a fast is to abstain from something good to focus on a greater need for Jesus. When you feel the desire for what you are giving up, let it serve as a prompt to turn to Him in worship. Whether you are new to fasting or have practiced it for years, there are several ways to participate:
-
Full Fast: Liquids only for the entire week.
-
Daylight Fast: Abstaining from food from sunup to sundown.
-
Partial Fast: Fasting from one meal per day or following a “Daniel Fast” (plant-based).
-
Activity Fast: Abstaining from social media, television, or a specific habit.
Daily Themes Each day, we will focus our hearts on a specific theme supported by Scripture. These are availableon the website.
